PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Fragmented supply chains and inefficient procurement systems in Africa lead to high costs and medication stockouts, severely impacting patient care. In Rwanda, only 8 dialysis centers serve over 520,000 individuals with chronic kidney disease. To address these challenges, we developed Afiapharma, a pharma procurement platform for retail pharmacies, hospitals, and dialysis centers. Afiapharma simplifies sourcing with a centralized hub of over 5,000 products, offers collateral-free inventory loans, and guarantees 3-hour last-mile delivery. This ensures quick access to essential supplies, minimizes stockouts, and improves cash flow management for healthcare providers. Volunteers can support by refining the platform, expanding outreach, and connecting us with potential partners.
Project Objectives
- Streamline Procurement Process: Simplify the sourcing and procurement of pharmaceutical products for retail pharmacies, hospitals, and dialysis centers, reducing the time and costs associated with accessing essential medical supplies.
- Enhance Accessibility: Ensure timely access to medications and medical supplies by guaranteeing 3-hour last-mile delivery, significantly reducing stockouts and improving patient care in underserved areas.
- Improve Financial Flexibility: Provide healthcare providers with flexible, collateral-free inventory financing options, enabling them to manage cash flow more effectively and maintain adequate stock levels
