PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Drop Access manufactures Vaccibox, a solar-powered portable refrigerator. Vaccibox is used to store and transport vaccines, medicines, blood and other health-related items that require cold storage. The company aims to have Vaccibox prequalified by WHO, under specification E003/RF04.4: Refrigerator or combined refrigerator and water-pack freezer: Solar powered with rechargeable battery. The current version of Vaccibox does not meet all the specifications for this certification. The company, therefore, needs technical assistance for the product development of the next version of the fridge, Vaccibox v3, which will meet the WHO specifications. Technical assistance needed is in the design of the mechanical, electrical and refrigeration systems of Vaccibox.

Project Objectives

  • Design Vaccibox version 3
  • Acquire WHO PQS prequalification
